Development of a productive arrangement for the manufacture of leather goods in the city of Serrita

Abstract

In this article, the authors present the discussion on the topic of Local Productive Arrangement - APL, which are territorial agglomerations of economic, political and social agents focused on a specific set of economic activities and that provide links and interdependence of diverse sectors of society. The objective of this study is to analyze the feasibility of creating a APL for the manufacture of leather goods in the municipality of Serrita in the state of Pernambuco. It presents a brief history of the municipality,
discusses the concepts and characteristics of the APLs, considers the economic importance of these productive structures for regions where they are implanted and shows an approach of qualitative and quantitative nature with exploratory character. The data collection instrument selected was the questionnaire, which was applied with the social actors involved in this project represented by the
Municipality of Serrita, representative of the Fundação Padre João Câncio, a representative of Casa do Artesão and six artisans. With the advent of field research, the current dynamics of this activity in the municipality were analyzed and, as a result of the study, it was noticed that the municipality of SerritaPE has a great potential to increase the activity, having a qualified workforce, production technique, in addition to owning a strong culture in the segment, as negative points were highlighted the obstacles
that hamper the development and implementation of said LPA which is the lack of investment from various spheres of society.
