The aim of this study is to develop an analysis of Água Viva (1998), by Clarice Lispector, based on the principle that the aforementioned writer proposes in her narratives a metacritical exercise on being, existing and narrating. The water element becomes a force that moves the manifestation of the Claricean feminine, seeking to show the conflicts between the “writer and painter” personas, who discuss aesthetic and ideological identities that hybridize Clarice Lispector's autobiographical hermeticity.
